Ahoy!
And welcome to my blog!
I hope that this blog will show an insight, create awareness and highlight some of the issues that people with BT's (brain tumours) have to face no matter how big or small.
In telling my story I hope it may inspire others to tell their story. I hope that this bog may help somebody make their own way through their own journey through sharing helpful information.
I think it will also be cathardic for me to share what I am going/have been through. I think I am ready to share. I couldnt face it for a long time but I feel I have moved on and I am ready to share this part of my life. Took me a while to get to this point (1yr and 4 months since the operation to remove the tumour) but I got there in the end!! And thats what matters! Its all about devine timing I think. Now was the right time for me.
I have also been working long and hard on my website http://www.braintumourahoyhoy.org/
Which is a support group for people who have had, or still have a low grade brain tumours. I also very much welsome their friends, family and carers.
On my website I have a helpful links section, that provides useful information on BT's and a live forum. If you would like to be a member of the forum please email me at braintumourahoyhoy@gmail.com
Sorry about the malarky of emailing me but that is just so I know that you are a real person and not someone just trying to sell me something!
The aim of the forum is to provide a safe harbour where you can share your story or just connect with people who are in the same boat. If you feel comfortable with it, I encourage you to share your individual experiences on my forum and on this blog.
My website also has a link to a facebook support group under the same name- Brain Tumour Ahoy Hoy the link is: www.facebook.com/groups/170740152944500?ap=1
You dont have to send me a email to join you just have to be genuine. Also on fb group I have things like meditaion, recommended reading and info on other support groups around Australia and much more helful info.
I also co facilitate my own support group in Melbourne Australia called Grey Matters. Its on every 3rd Monday of every month. For more info please go to my facebook site or send me an email.
My website and facebook support group has no restrictions on age and I am very lucky to have members from all over the world.
I also want this blog to be about my general experience thoughts and feelings of this world that we live in. The BT is a very large part of me and my life but it does not define completely who I am as an individual.
I will post more later but I might spend a bit of time familiarising my self with the blogging process. I am a newbie to blogging! So be gentle and patient with me!
I am very excitied and I feel that this is going to be another fantastic adventure.
Welcome aboard and thanks for the support.
